Freedom's Not Easy

Freedom's Not Easy
Freedom is not a prop for political sound bites in Wyoming. Our “live and let live” values mean the real stuff: to live our lives free of controlling mandates and public interference (so long as we’re lawful.) We like our fences – to keep cattle and noses out of our private affairs and property. It also means that others may have speech you don’t like, religious beliefs you don’t share, and ways of living that make you uncomfortable. Having Wyoming Grit means respecting others’ freedom – even when it’s not easy.
In Wyoming, we like our frontier independence – in thought and action. But we also know with freedom comes responsibility. You are free to roam our wild public lands and get mauled by a bear, but you’re accountable for the consequences – to yourself and others (especially if local SAR has to save you!) We exercise our freedoms responsibly because we know these choices have an impact on others and our community.
